There are two published biographies of Nathan Dewolf that differ is some details.
Nathan was born in 1715. Nathan was the child of Benjamin DeWolf and Susanna Douglas. [1]
In 1761, Simeon, Nathan and Jehiel DeWolf and their families moved from Connecticut to Horton Township, Nova Scotia. Esther Clark Wright lists these three as Simeon from Lyme, Nathan from Saybrook and Jehiel from Killingworth. [2] Some genealogies have recorded these three men as cousins, more recent research has found that these three were brothers, sons of Benjamin De Wolf (born 1695), who was in turn the son of Steven DeWolf and grandson of Balthazar DeWolfe. [3] [4] [5]
Nathan DeWolfe, father of Loran, and great-great-grandfather of C. E. De Wolfe, was born in Say Brook, Connecticut, in 1720, graduated A.M. in 1743, at Yale College, New Haven, and was engaged in the practice of law. He had previously " owned the covenant," or joined the Congregational church, 7th June, 1741. He married, first, about 1748, Lydia Kirtland, daughter of John Kirtland. His second wife was Lydia Beldon, born at Say Brook, October 28th, 1721. Their children were Lucilla, Edward, born 1752; Loran, born 7th April, 1754; Elisha, born 5th May, 1756, and. Nathan. Nathan, senr., came to Horton, Kings county, Nova Scotia, in 1760. He was a successful farmer. 1768 County Treasurer, deputy registrar of deeds for Horton NS[6] The Nova Scotian census returns of 1770 give a detailed account of his farm produce and stock. His residence was on the east side of the main post road, opposite to the present Baptist church, in Wolfville (1887). His legal practice did not interfere with his agricultural pursuits. He was for many years senior justice of the peace for Kings county. He was also registrar of probate, and took an active part in public affairs. 1787-1789 COMMISSIONIER for taking Special Bail in the Country on Actions depending in the Supreme Court Kings Co[7] He died at Horton on the 21st of March, 1789, aged sixty -nine years.
Nathan DeWolf was a founder of the town of Wolfville, Kings County, Nova Scotia, Canada. [8] Nathan earned a M. A. from Yale, he was a lawyer and man of property in his native Connecticut. His Planter allotment in Wolfville was on the north side of Main Street opposite the present Baptist church.
Nathan De Wolfe married Anna Witter 12th October 1770 in Horton township, Kings county, Nova Scotia [9]
Nathan died in 1789, and is buried in the Wolfville Old Burying Ground, -stone 138.[10]

Ann (Prentiss) DeWolf (Prentice-485) is connected to Nathan DeWolf, Sr. (DeWolf-226) the father but is actually the 2nd wife of Nathan DeWolf Jr. (De_Wolf-35), the son. This means that the 4 children attributed to her and Nathan Sr. are incorrect. ie Gurdon, Sarah, Jonathan and Nathan Jr. Their mother should be Lydia Kirtland (Kirtland-42)
According to my records, Nathan Sr. and Lydia (Kirtland) DeWolf had: Lucilla (m Libbeus Harris), Edward, Loran, Elisha, Nathan Jr.( m1 Anna Hamilton, m2 Anne (Prentiss) Witter), Gurdon (died Young), Sarah (m1 Eli Perkins, m2 Joel Farnsworth) and Jonathan (Lost at sea)
Also, the biography (in the 2nd large paragraph, 3rd line) states that Lydia Belden is married to Nathan Sr. but in fact Lydia Belden is 2nd wife of John Kirtland and mother to Lydia Kirtland, Nathan Sr's wife....are you confused yet?
If you need assistance to switch it, I'm happy to help.
