Biography
Henry (Harry) was born Jan 10, 1876 probably in Nova Scotia, Canada.[1]
He married Kate A. Fitzmaurice in 1900 in Halifax County.[2]
The 1911 Cdn census lists Harry as a 35 yr old, NS born, English Cdn, Presbyterian adherent, steamship agent living @ 99 Victoria Rd., Halifax NS.[3]
In 1919 he was still living in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and a petitioner for the incorporation of the City Club (private club)[4]
He was married a second time on 24 Sep 1927 in Upper Canard, Kings County, NS, by Baptist rites, to Muriel Maud Lewis. [5]
The 1931 Cdn census lists Harry George as a 55 yr old, NS born, English-Cdn, Baptist adherent, owner-broker steamship company, living in Bedford, NS. [6]
He retired from the family owned steamship shipping agency in 1947. He started with the company circa 1888, as a 12 yr old, for a total of 59 yrs of service.
He died on 2 Sep 1952 in the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He was buried in Brookside Cemetery, Bedford, Halifax County, Nova Scotia, MEMORIAL ID208481106.
