George De Carteret 1st Baron Hawnes.
George was born in July 1667 at Hinchinbrooke, Huntingdonshire, England. George Carteret passed away on 22 September 1695 and was buried 30 September 1695 at Hawnes, Bedfordshire, England.
George Carteret succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Carteret, of Metesches, in Jersey [E., 1645] on 13 January 1679/80. He was created 1st Baron Carteret of Hawnes, co. Bedford [England] on 19 October 1681, with a special remainder to his brothers.

George Carteret did appear before, The Court of Death in 1675 age seven and a half years to choose who should be responsible for his affairs, He chose his Grandfather after the death of his father.
Sir George in 1679: 'Young' George had what can be described as a "quite grown up signature".
Succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet, Metesches, Jersey. [1]
"Sir George de Carteret, after he came from Jersey to the court of Charles the Second, dropped the de, and was created Lord Carteret of Hawnes in 1681; a title which has been re-conferred as Viscounty in 1714, and as a barony in 1784, still without de."
