Biography

Baron Maurice de Gay de Nexon was married to Adrienne Chanel, aunt of fashion designer Coco Chanel.

Maurice de Gay de Nexon was born on 16 January 1884 in Tours. He was the son of Maurice Auguste de Nexon and Gertrude Hainguerlot. He married Adrienne Chanel on 29 April 1930 in Paris (17th arrondissement)[1]. The marriage witnesses were Coco Chanel and Robert de Gay de Nexon.

He was made Chevalier of Légion d'Honneur[2].

Maurice de Gay de Nexon died on 27 May 1967 in the château de la Garde in Nexon.
