Antoine Joseph Mendoza was born on September 9, 1791 in Donaldsonville, Territory of Orleans, son of Juan Antonio Mendoza (~1748–1823) and Isabel De Orta (~1767–1847).[1]

Antoine (24) married Henrietta Candelaria Allemand (27) (born on July 18, 1789 in Donaldsonville, Ascension, Orleans Territory; daughter of Antonio Jose del Rosario Aleman and Maria Bernarde Plaisance) on August 12, 1816 in Plattenville Louisiana. [2]Their children were:

In the 1860 census Antoine Mendoza (age 70) and his wife A Mendoza (age 72), lived with one of his sons, Antoine Mendoza, (age 40), his wife A. Mendoza (age 34) their sons Lucien (age 22), Euphemon (age 2), and their daughters Oliver (age 14), Emma (age 12), Mathilde (age 8), Euphemie (age 6). Antoine's married granddaughter Amelia Mendoza (age 22), her husband Denis Carlin (age 22) and their newborn son, just one month old also lived in the multi-family household in Western District, St Mary, Louisiana, United States.[7]

Antoine (age 70) died on February 8, 1861 in Charenton, St. Mary Parish, Louisiana, United States, aged 69.[8][9]
