Biography

Sebastián was born in 1750.

Sebastián married Sarah Andrews, his housekeeper some time after their children were born.

Children:

  1. Leandro born 1803 in London died in 1886 in Paris
  2. Franciso born 1806 in London died in 1831 in Cerinza, Colombia

Sebastián had a friendship with the painter James Barry, the uncle of the surgeon James Barry Bulkley-417; Miranda helped to keep the secret that the latter was assigned female at birth. According to historian Linda de Pauw, "Miranda was an ardent feminist, named women as his literary executors, and published an impassioned plea for female education." [1]

He passed away in 1816.
