Charles De Salis was born on 19th March 1860 in Fringford, Oxfordshire[1]. He was the son of Henry Jerome Augustine Fane de Salis and Grace Elizabeth Warner (Henley) de Salis. His baptism took place in Fringford on 1st April 1860. His father stated on the register that he was a clerk and that the family were living in Fringford at the time[2].
