Before 1399, Richard married Alice Holand, daughter of John Holand and Elizabeth, daughter of John of Gaunt. They had no children.
About 1406-7, Richard married Alice Sergeaux, daughter of Sir Richard Sergeaux and Philippa de Arundel, and widow of Guy Saint Auburn. They had three children:
Sir Richard died 15 feb 1416/7. He wrote a will 6 aug 1415, leaving all property and estate to his wife Alice. The will was proven 26 feb 1415/6. Richard was buried at Earls Colne, Essex.
