Theophile 'Tom' Peter De Zaeyer was born in Meetkerke, Belgium on Jan 20 1884.
Theophile Dezayer immigrated to Canada in June of 1907. He landed in the the Quebec Port, the ship was named 'Montreal'. 'Tom' was 23 years old.[1] Tom then made his way to Edmonton, Alberta.
He married Elisa Zoe DeVos (relict Claerhout) on Jan 20 1914 in Edmonton, Alberta. Together they had 3 more children. Elisabeth brought two sons to the marriage, Albert and Henri.
Children:
They moved south of Edmonton to settle in Bashaw, Alberta, Canada. Tom and Elisa bought a farm and started a wonderful life together. Their children all stayed around the Bashaw/Stettler/Alix area of Alberta. Henri and Albert also stayed in the area having families of their own.
Theodore passed away in 1973 and was interred in the Bashaw Cemetery, Bashaw, Lloydminster Census Division, Alberta, Canada[2]
