Biography

Catherine was born in 1842 in Poplar, Middlesex the daughter of Samuel Charles Deacon and Virginia Grace (Scripps) Deacon.^[1]

1851 Census on the 30th March 1851 Catherine was living with her parents Samuel and Virginia and her siblings Virginia, Mary, Ellen, Alfred, Octavius and Samuel in Gascoyne Road, Hackney, Middlesex.^[2]

1861 Census on the 7th April 1861 Catherine was living with his mother Virginia and her siblings Virginia, Mary, Ellen, Grace and Octavius in South Hackney, Middlesex.^[3]

1871 Census on the 2nd April 1871 Catheine a governess, was living in Nightingale Road, Godalming, Surrey.^[4]

1881 Census on the 3rd April 1881 Catherine a schoolmistress, was living at Burnham House School, Grange Road, Eastbourne with her sisters Mary and Grace. Also living there were her nieces Alice Deacon and May Deacon.^[5]

1891 Census on the 5th April 1891 Catherine a schoolmistress, was living at Grassington Road Ladies College, Grassington Road, Eastbourne, Sussex with her sisters Mary, Ellen and Grace. Also living there were her nieces Alice Deacon and May Deacon and a nephew Harold Deacon.^[6]

1901 Census on the 31st March 1901 Catherine was living with her sisters Ellen and Virginia, and a niece May Deacon in Camden Road, Lingfield, Surrey, England, United Kingdom.^[7][8]

1911 Census on the 2nd April 1911 Catherine was living at 311 Norton Way, Letchworth, Hertfordshire with her niece May Deacon.^[9]

Catherine, of 2 Queensdown Road, Clapton, Middlesex, died aged 79 on the 13th April 1922 in Hackney, Middlesex.^[10]

Probate of Catherine's estate, £4372 10s. 0d., was processed in London on the 16th August 1922 and passed to Owen Deacon an architect.^[11]
