Daniel served his apprenticeship with John Barnard, Silversmith, of 34 Paternoster Row. He was described as Daniel the son of Daniel, gentleman and the certificate was signed on 6th November 1833

In 1841 he was 20 years old, living with his parents at Clifton Street, North, Shoreditch St Leonard, Middlesex, England, United Kingdom[5].
In 1851 he was 32 years old, single and living with his parents at Arthur Street, St Pancras, Middlesex, England and working as a silversmith Journeyman[6].
He married Lucy Tanner in 1853 and the marriage was registered in Brighton, Sussex[7].
In 1861 he was 42, married to Lucy (39) and living in Holford Square, Clerkenwell, Middlesex. He was employed as a Silversmith manager[8].
In 1871 he was 52 years old, living with his wife Lucy (49) in Clapham, London, Surrey, England. Her mother Met Tanner and her sister Mary Tanner were also living with them.
His occupation was silversmith[9].
