Samuel Deacon was a cotton and yarn merchant in Manchester. He operated a warehouse at No.4 Half Moon Court in Manchester, which was damaged by fire in October 1840.[1] He and his family lived in Chorlton-In-Medlock, a suburb of the city.
By 1851, he was retired and living with his family in Wales,[2] where his wife of thirty seven years died in 1857 in Wrexham.[3] By 1861 he had relocated to the Isle of Man with his five unmarried daughters.[4]
He died January 3, 1870 on Isle of Man and his will was probate on April 12 of that year, spinster daughters Elizabeth Ann Deacon and Mary Jane Deacon, both of Villa Bella Vista, Victoria-road, Douglas, Isle of Man, executrixes.[5]
