Elizabeth Dean born in Clarendon Township in 1866. She was the daughter of James Dean and Rachel Smith. She married Thomas Smiley in Clarendon around 1894.
Elizabeth Dean Smiley passed away on Sunday February 27, 1955 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. G. Wilson, Kemptville, Ontario, the widow of the late Thomas Smiley and mother of Kenneth Smiley of Shawville, Quebec in her 89th year. Resting at Geo. Hynes and Son, Shawville, where funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 1. Interment in Stark's Corner cemetery. [1]
