Elizabeth was born in 1852, the daughter of Martin and Almira Dean.[1][2] She married Zachary Taylor Hitt in 1869.[3] In 1880, Betty's mother was living with her and Zachary and their growing family.[4] In 1900, Betty is listed as being the mother of 12 children, with 10 still living.[5] She passed away in 1936 at age 84.[6]
