1880 United States Census, Washington Township, Mercer, Missouri: Enoch F. Dean is head of household, age 33, with wife Mary Ruth Dean age 44, and children James Nelson Dean age 14, and Sarah M. Dean age 12, Anna J. Dean age 5, and Henry C. Dean age 2.

James Nelson Dean married Sarah Alvirda Shockey c. 1889 in Mercer, Missouri.

Children:
