Biography
Amos Dean was born about 1809 in Columbia County, New York.
He married in 1838, Harriet E. (Corning; 1814-1875), with whom he had one child:
- Anna (Dean; 1838-); married John Vedder
This family was enumerated consistently in census of Granby Township, Oswego County, New York [1],[2],[3],[4].
Harriet, his first wife, died in 1875; thereafter Amos Dean married in 1878, Cornelia (Hall), who was significantly (about 39 years) younger. They had one child:
- Cornelia A. Dean, b. 1884
According to Phoenix Register 1958 (centennial) edition, Amos was president of Phoenix bank for a time.
Amos Dean died in 1898, in Phoenix, New York. His grave is in Chase Cemetery, Lysander, Onondaga County, New York, USA [5].
