DNA Tested
George Dean's DNA has been tested for genealogical purposes. It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with George or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
  • George Dean: Family Tree DNA Y-DNA Test 67 markers, haplogroup R-M269, FTDNA kit #MK47018
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
  • George Dean: Family Tree DNA mtDNA Test Full Sequence, haplogroup K1a3a1b, FTDNA kit #MK47018
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with George:

George, do you want me to add a table for Y DNA testing of the Deans on the Dean Name study? BTW, my Dean Brother in Law is also an R-M269 (but no match to Deans, but lots of Prescotts) .

George - My Brother in Law Don Dean is a Dean descended from the Taunton Deans , His YDNA does not match this line, but he has Autosomal matches back to the Edsons, Pratts, etc would be interested to see the divergence..

Hi George,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, coordinating with others is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Based on your tag the German Roots Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to review other possibilities. Read the goals and tasks of the projects and join those which are a good fit.
