Benjamin Dean(e) was a son of Walter Deane and Eleanor (Cogan) Deane, who married in New England in about 1640 or earlier, probably in Taunton, Massachusetts.
Most of the early records of Taunton were destroyed by a fire in 1838, and there is no known record of Benjamin's birth.
Benjamin Dean(e) married Sarah Williams in Taunton, Massachusetts, on 6 January 1680/1. 
Benjamin Dean died before 14 April 1724, when his will was presented for probate in Bristol County, Massachusetts. His will, created on "this second day of february Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred twenty two three In ye ninth year of ye Reign of our sovereign Lord George of Great Britain vz King," mentions eldest son Israel Dean, brother Ezra Dean (named as a adjoining landowner, not an heir), son Benjamin Dean, son Ebenezer Dean, daughter Hannah Richmond, daughter Mary Edson, daughter Damaris White, daughter Sarah Danforth, daughter Elisabeth Richmond, daughter Mehitable Richmond, daughter Lydia Dean, and beloved wife Sarah Dean. His youngest sons, Benjamin Dean and Ebenezer Dean, were nominated as executors.

Deane-551 and Deane-116 appear to represent the same person because: Same person, notwithstanding the 20-year difference in birthdates. Both dates already appear in the body of Deane-116, but the 1666 date is clearly too late.
His date of birth does not seem to be recorded. However, it was after his father's emigration in 1637 and early enough for Benjamin to have married in 1681.
