Just a quick note to thank you for everything you've been doing to straighten out data for the Howtons, Thompsons, and other distant relatives of mine. I've been far too busy with other projects to properly prune from those branches the various duplicates, and incorrect facts, and to correct omissions. The collaborative nature of WikiTree can be a real godsend in the hands of people like you!
Hello L,

I hope you're enjoying WikiTree.

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree. Be sure to look for Duplicates before adding a profile, and always include Sources for your information.

Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree.

Our Help Index covers topics you may have questions about.

Our G2G Forum is where many of our generous members help each other out.

Visit our "Weekend Chat". Say hello, introduce yourself, and see what other members are up to right now! http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/153968/weekend-chat-all-members-are-invited-5-june-2015

Of course, I'm here to help in any way I’m able.

Hi L. Welcome to WikiTree. Not starting with a GEDCOM is wise. (Though, note that you can upload one just for search purposes.) Good luck, and I hope you enjoy yourself here.

Hi L,

Just a quick PS

Don't forget to Head over to the G2G forum. and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House or ask a question in any of the other categories. There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: for that "special" ancestor who is eluding you.

if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

Best Wishes, and have fun adding your leaves and branches!

Thank you for volunteering!

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community! Please remember that we are trying to build one Collaborative Global Family Tree which means only one profile per person. It is important to ensure that no duplicates are created and profiles are properly sourced.

To help you get started, check out an introductory WikiTree video that a member created. For member benefits, see our Community Members page.

We also have a Mentor Team who will be glad to answer questions and help you with any specific problems.

Welcome and Enjoy!

My plan is to enter my known ancestors one at a time rather than uploading a gedcom (this may change, but I'd rather not be flooded with information while I'm still new). My main hope for now is to break down some brick walls. I will be happy to provide any information I can to others, and hope to find others who will reciprocate.
