Jacob, son of Johann Dech and possibly Anna Pressler,[citation needed] was born 26 January 1746 in Schoenersville, Bucks County (Northampton after 1752; Lehigh after 1812), Pennsylvania.[1]

He lived in Forks township,[2] and married Christina Best,[2] sister of Conrad and daughter of Jacob Best of Williams township.[2] They had five children:

  1. John Dech (b. 16 February 1778;[3][4] bapt. 15 March 1778;[3] m. Elizabeth Oberly;[2][5] d. 21 December 1858).[6]

Jacob Dech purchased various tracts of land in Allen township, enlisted as a soldier in the Revolutionary Army.

Jacob Dech was a valiant soldier in the Revolutionary War under Washington, and was a native of Bucks County, this state.[7][8]
