DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jan by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jan:

Decker-7176 and Decker-492 appear to represent the same person because: There are merge proposals for the parents, too.

Decker-7176 and Decker-492 are not ready to be merged because: We can merge these but let's take a look at the parents. Do they need merging first? I see a few merge requests in the works. I only put the unmerged match in place to get the parents first and to slow this down a tiny bit. I'm scared to come into this cold and start making a bunch of decisions when I haven't been in the middle of it for the past week.

Decker-7176 and Decker-492 appear to represent the same person because: Same first and last name, same parents, same birth and death data. Neither profile has patronymic name not compatible with a child of a man named Jacob. Need to look at the sources for those patronymics.

Decker-2764 and Decker-492 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest paternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge. No tree conflicts. Thanks!
