Allen Whitfield Decker was born in 1802 in Georgia, United States, son of Allen Robert Decker (~1777 - ~1834) and Susannah Allgood (1776 - 1860).
His siblings were:
- Young Allgood Decker (1796 - 1846)
- Elizabeth Decker (1810 - 1865)
Allen married Elizabeth Judy Brockman (1815 - 1890). Their son was John Brockman Decker (1836 - 1912).
Allen died in 1888 in Georgia aged ~86.
