Birth
Minnie was born about 1902. She was the daughter of Sam Decorra and Mary Little John.
Name
Her Hocąk name was given as ENukMeNukKah. (1910 census) This is for Hinųgᵋmį̄nąka, "Sitting Woman", from hinųk, "woman"; mį̄ną́k, "to sit"; and -ka, a definite article suffix used in personal names.
Her Hocąk birth order name was Oxicakanunka, which is for Aksigakanąka, "Sixth Daughter", an unattested name. Aksiga, the name for the Third Daughter, is used as a stem to build other birth order names. The word kanąk can mean "fruitful".
