Jim was born in 7 May 1902. (1932 census) However, his draft card says 26 June 1902. The 1917 census identifies him as the son of John C. Decora. He was raised by his grandmother, the wife of Peter Decora (b. 1848). The 1903 census shows that his mother was Lena Johnson (b. 1883) who died before the 1904 census, where Jim is classified as an orphan.
Appearance
His WWII draft card describes him as 6' 2" tall, 230 lbs., of dark complexion, brown eyes and black hair; "the middle finger of his right had [was] stiff".
Occupations
The CNW Railroad hired him in 1955 for snow removal work. (CNW)
