According to the account at the St. Francis of Pointe Coupée Cemetery where Pierre [Jean Francois?] was buried, his father, the patriarch Albert de Guire, had contracted to be a miner with his wife and five children the twenty-second of October, 1719, for six years.
In the history of Genevieve Mayeux DeCuir, buried at the same cemetery, it is said that her husband, Pierre [Jean Francois?], was of humble origin and came to Louisiana in 1720 as a young worker destined for the Law concession on the Arkansas River.
He is listed as being on board the ship Profound which set sail from LaRochelle, France on June 10, 1720 and arrived at Biloxi on September 16, 1720. Pierre [Jean Francois?] first settled at the John Law Concession at the Arkansas Post. The Post on the Arkansas River was established by Henri de Tonti in 1689.[2]
He married Genevieve Mayeux on 5 November 1743 in St. Francis Church, Pointe Coupee, Louisiana.[1]
