Biography

The early years

Agnes was born ion the 26th of March 1896 in Pawnee Township, Licoln, Oklahoma to Jacob Deemer and Dorsa Wheeler in Oklahoma.

She was one of two children:

The would become orphans with Jacob passing away by 1900, and Dorsa/Dorsey by 1906. At this point I am uncertain why the children were not kept in the family and instead went to what appears an orphanage as there was a large Wheeler family in the Oklahoma/Kansas Area.

In 1900 they were living with their grandmother Sarah.

Family life

She would marry Ralph Neiss first on the 17th of August 1936[1] then again on the 15th of August 1953 in California[2]

It appears they may have gotten divorced then potentially remarried. Or perhaps a renewal of vows.

Throughout the years

Jacob would pass away in 1900, and they would be living with Dorsa's mother Sarah[3]. They would be living in Pawnee, Lincoln, Oklahoma and in the home are Sarah 51, Etta Wheeler 21, Euge 18, Gilbert 15, Dorsey Deemer 27, Agnes 4, Dennis 1

In March of 1905 she would be sick from school[4]

1910[5] census in Eagle Chief, Alfalfa, Oklahoma, USA. It appears that they were placed in the Odd Fellow Orphanage of Alfalfa County in Oklahoma. The children show as inmates, however are the ages of 14 and 11.

In 1913 she and her brother would be enrolled in the school at Carmen, Alfalfa, Oklahoma[6]

In 1920[7] she and her brother had left Oklahoma and went to Los Angeles together. They were living on Fremont Avenue in Los Angeles, he was working as machinist in an Oil Refinery Company and they were renting their home.

In 1930[8] she was living on Westchester place as live in help with the Driver's.

In 1940[9] she confirmed that she had completed her 2nd year of college and they were living in a home they rented for $27 a month on Beaudry Avenue. In the home were Ralph 62, working as a clerk in a hotel with an income of about $1,100, and Agnes 42.

Death

She died in April of 1986, with her last residence stated as being in Cushing, Payne, Oklahoma[10]
