William E. Deen married Bertha Agnes Lees on 15 April 1917 in Miami County, Indiana. Thomas J. Brock officiated the ceremony. Bertha was 21, born 12 March 1896 in Bunker Hill, IN, and was a resident of Peru, IN. It was her first marriage. Her father, Robert M. Lees was a bridge foreman, b. In Miami County, IN; and her mother, Frances (Pierce) Lees b. In Cicero, IN, were both residents of Peru, IN. William was 20, b. 5 Jan 1897 in Peru, IN, a machinist, and a resident of Peru, IN. This was his first marriage. His parents, William H. Deen, b. near Royal Center, IN, was a boilermaker; and his mother, Kate (Wade) Deen, b. Lima, Ohio, were both residents of Peru, Indiana. ^[1]

William died in 1960. Bertha died in 1994. They are buried together in Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru, Indiana. ^[2]
