- John Dellinger, son of Eli Dellinger by Margaret Hoyle, was born 4 April 1836, in Lincoln County, North Carolina. His ancestors came from Wirttenburg, Germany, in 1750 and are registered as Revolutionary War Patriots with the DAR.
