Biography

Parentage

A daughter Elisabeth is a legatee in the 1769 will of George Dellinger [Johann Georg Dellinger].[1] She may be the same person who married Henry Dinges. The marriage bond, cited below, names her parents as "John & Cathrine."

Birth

A variety of birth years are proposed by various researchers. Some state she was born 1740 in Shenandoah County, Virginia.[2] Others state she was born circa 1766, which is less likely based on her mother's estimated birth year.[3]

Marriage

20 June 1787, Shenandoah County, Virginia, marriage bond, Henry Dinge-Eliz. Dellinger, daughter of John & Cathrine.[4] There is disagreement among researchers about the spouse of Elizabeth, daughter of Johann George and Catherine (Krahenbulh) Dellinger. Some say she married Philip Windel.[5]

How is it possible for a woman to marry a man when she is 47 years old and then have eight children by him?

There is no Elizabeth Dinges listed in George Dellinger's will or in the chancery case involving his heirs.
