Biography

Henry was born in 1873 and died in 1935.[1]

Spouse 1. Sarah Jane "Jennie" (Jaynes) Hunter. Married 20 May 1894 in Burke County.[2] There were no children of this marriage.

Spouse 2. Emma Elizabeth Moses, daughter of Joe D. Moses and his wife Eliza Jane Lowman. A marriage record has not been located. Her maiden name is given as "Moody" on her husband's 1897 death certificate, which appears to be a typographical error. She shares a joint tombstone with her husband at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.[3]

Joe Anderson Dellinger, son of J. H. Dellinger and Emma A. Moses, was born 14 October 1927. However, he was only five months old on the 1930 census, indicating that a 1929 birth year is more accurate.[5] The 1956 Flint, Michigan, City Directory lists him and wife Doris J. Dellinger as residents at 511 Louisa Street; his occupation was machine operator for the Buick Company.[6] His Social Security Applications dated May 1954, 3 June 1993, and January 1944 state Joe Anderson Dellinger was born 14 October 1926 (instead of 1927) at Denton, Davidson County, North Carolina, and names his parents as Henry Dellinger and Emma Moses.[7] Joe A. Dellinger, born 14 October 1929, resident of Flint, Genesee County, Michigan, died 20 September 1991 at Grayling, Crawford County, Michigan.[8]
