Columbus and his twin sister Columbia were born on November 8, 1874, in Carroll County, Virginia to Peter Delp and Parthena Angeline (Montgomery) Delp.[1] He spent his childhood living in Sulphur Springs with his family.[2] Columbus contracted diphtheria at the tender age of 12 and died as a result on November 28, 1887.[3] He was buried in Nige Lineberry Cemetery.[4]
