Thank you K. Peter Demens was definitely involved with the founding of St. Petersburg, Florida. Perhaps he lived or worked in St. Petersburg, Russia at some point, I am not sure. But I do know about his involvement in St. Petersburg, Florida. We even have a park named for him "Demen's Landing." where the railroad eventually ended. He is famous in St. Petersburg, Florida. Many of our original buildings were built in "Russian" style to honor the Russian heritage of Peter Demens.

Tver' (Kalinin/Twer) is at 56°52' N 35°53' E, this is about 500km from Saint Petersburg at 59°54' N 30°16' E. They are not nearby. Perhaps family records got confused if he was involved in Saint Petersburg, Florida?
