Biography

Solomon Deming, son of Josiah; born 8 july 1722, Wethersfield to Josiah and Prudence Deming[1]

Resided: Newington, and Canaan, Connecticut; New Canaan, New York and Howard, NY.[2]

Solomon Deming lived for a time in Newiington, Conn. where the church records show the baptism of his first three children. He next appears in Canaan, Conn, where he bought land in 1750 and where church records show the baptism of Lucy, Isaac, Solomon and Mary. There appears also the baptism of a daughter Elizabeth, 28 Apr 1754 but the records are so indistinct that this may not be his child. Married twice and had children by both wives in Conn. and New York. Nothing has been found to show the name of either wife, nor of their parentage.[2]

He died about 1820 in Howard, New York[2].
