William E. Denison was born 7 Oct 1802 at Stonington, Connecticut, the fourth child of Deborah Dewey, the second wife of Robert Denison of Stonington, Connecticut.
He married 7 Mar 1827 Mary L. Allyn [she died 13 Feb 1890, age 82 years, 7 months]. They had 4 children:
- Mary Ann Denison, b. 21 Dec 1827; married Warren N. Jones; d. 9 Jan 1852
- William A. Denison, b. 27 Sep 1830; married Lucy L. Wright; d. 2 Jun 1902
- Eliza A. Denison, b. 26 Nov 1835; married Edwin R. Merrill
- Deborah A. Denison, b. 21 Jun 1840; married Edward Ackart
This family lived at Nepaug, Connecticut.
