William Houser Denman was born on January 5, 1884, on his parents' farm in Bowling Green Township, Marion County, Ohio, USA. His parents were William Elliott Denman and his wife Sarah M. (Houser) Denman. They were prosperous farmers in the central Ohio region. His father was known as "Squire Denman" locally. [1]
William H. Denman married Ethel Clark, b: October 18, 1885, in Bowling Green Twp., Marion Co., Ohio, in 1902. The couple lived on a farm nearby in Marion, Marion County, Ohio, and had 2 daughters:

Mr. Denman managed to stagger out the front door when another lighting bolt hit him, killing him instantly. His wife and child, while injured, survived the incident. His 2nd daughter was born after his death. William H. Denman was buried in the Fairview Cemetery, La Rue, Marion County, Ohio, USA. His wife survived his passing. In 1910 she remarried to John G. Sparks and they had children together in Bowling Green Twp., Marion Co., Ohio, USA. [2] After his death, Ethel remarried to a Mr. Carter. She died on September 5, 1950, in Marion County, Ohio. She was buried in Fairview Cemetery, La Rue, Ohio, near her first two husbands. [3][4]
