Time Line I have put together from documents listed in sources. 1834 - 1845 Questionable dates of birth. 1834 - 1845 Questionable places of birth: Ireland or New York USA. 1865 Edward and Margaret are married. Their daughter Catherine is born in New York. 1868 son Edward Denning born in Dakota Territory. 1868 - 1874 Dakota Territory. Three children born: Edward, Louise, and Ellen Denning. 1872 January 08 From register of Army. Fort Randall, Gregory, Dakota Territory. 1874 Their son Richard Denning is born. Edward files disability at Fort Brady Michigan. His rank is Sergeant. Military regiment 22, Military Unit Infantry, Shipping Company C.

1875 May 8th. Edward Denning, Senior files for pension. 1876 Their daughter Isabelle is born Holmes Township, Mackinac, Michigan. 1878 Their son Albert Denning is born at Mackinac Island, Michigan. 1878 Edward Denning Senior passes away and Margaret files for widow benefits.

United States Census 14 June 1880 Village of Mackinac, Holmes Township, Mackinac County, Michigan lists Margaret Denning age 30, martial statues widow, occupation: house keeping, place of birth New York, parents born in Ireland. Daughter Kattie, white, single, female, age 14 born in New York. Thus Margaret age 30 and Kattie age 14 would mean that Margaret was born approximately 1850 and Kattie born in 1866. Summation: Edward Denning must have married Margaret in 1864 or 1865, Margaret if 1850 birthdate is correct, she would have been 14 or 15 years of age when she married Edward Denning.
