Catherine was born in 1870. She is the daughter of James Dennis and Caroline Bailey. As far as we can find Catherine and James had 2 sons, James Carl and Harry Melbourne.

OBITUARY Mr. James Burgan, who died at Wallaroo Mines recently was the third son of the late William Henry and Mary Burgan, of East Moonta, and was born there in August, 1869 After he left school he was employed by the then Moonta Mining Co, and subsequently at Wallaroo Mines. He married Catherine, second daughter of the late Mr. James Dennis, of East Moonta. She died in 1920, leaving two sons, James Carl and Harry Melbourne. In 1922, Mr. Burgan married again. Mr. Burgan was an ardent Methodist. Two brothers, Messrs. Richard Charles and Henry Stanley, and three sisters, Mary Ellen, Edith and Hilda Catherine, survive him.
