Joseph Dennis was born about 1810 and baptised at Measham 18 Feb 1810, the son of Thomas Dennis and Jane Johnston.[1]
He married Mary Smith on the 15 Oct 1833 at Measham by banns. The marriage was witnessed by Daniel Dennies and Elizabeth Smith. [2] (The date of the index of 29 Sep 1833 is the date when the banns were called. They married on the 15 October 1833. [3][4] After Mary's death in 1853 Joseph married for a second time to Mary Dennis nee Betteridge the widow of John Dennis in 1854.[5]
