Mrs. Malinda Turner (nee Miss M. Denny) died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Arnett, near Bayou Le Batre, Mobile County, Ala., Nov 5th, 1891, in the 88th year of her age. She was born in Georgia on the 28th of June, 1804. In 1810, her parents moved to Jackson County, Miss. In her 19th year, she was united in marriage to Mr. John Turner. By this union, God gave her seven daughters and one son, all of whom are left to grieve her departure. God permitted her to live to see a large family grow up around her. She leaves forty-five grand children, ninety-five great-grand children, and six great-great grand children. She was left a widow in 1843, and spent the remainder of her life among her children. She was a sister of Mt. Walter Denny, of Moss Point, and Mrs. Polly Gibson, of Cross Roads, Miss. She was also the grand-mother of Mr. J.H. Rools, of Scranton, Miss. She was a membe of the Missionary Baptist Church for sixty-five years of her life. Strong in the faith once delivered to the Saints, she found her greatest pleasure in talking about God's dealings with her sonl. She was always in her place in church, unless kept away by sickness. She lived a Christian's life and died the Christian's death. May God assist her bereft live ones to meet her where:

Sickness, sorrow, pain, and death.
