WEDDING REPORT. BUSSELL—DENNY. A wedding took place at Christ Church, Claremont, on Wednesday of last Week, between Mr. Frederick Bussell and Miss Denny. The Rev. Canon Lefroy was the officiating clergyman. The bride was given away by Mr. H. C. de Castilla, whose two charming little daughters acted as bridesmaids. Mr. T. Connelly was best man. The bride looked very pretty in her dainty dress of cream mousseline de soie over glace, trimmed with French Valenciennes. Her veil was surmounted with a wreath of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of white roses. The bridesmaids were dressed in soft white muslin and lace, with Victorian bonnets, trimmed with chiffon, and carried baskets of pink roses. They wore brooches of operculeusus, set in silver, the gifts of the bridegroom. After the ceremony the bridal party drove to the residence of Mr. and Mrs. de Castilla, where a reception was held in the evening, when Mr. and Mrs. Bussell received the congratulations of a large number of friends. The house was gaily decorated for the occasion, the spacious verandahs being enclosed with bunting and flags, and illuminated with numerous Chinese lanterns and fairy lights, the whole effect being charming. The dainty supper was spread beneath a cluster of multi-coloured lights, which gave the tastefully decorated table a most pleasing appearance. At about half-past 10 o'clock the bride and bridegroom took their departure, amidst the hearty farewells of their friends, which were accompanied with showers of rice and rose petals. The bride's going-away dress was green assam silk, trimmed with cream Maltese lace; the hat was cream net and lace, trimmed with pink roses. Mr. and Mrs. Bussell drove to Perth, where the honeymoon is to be spent. Western Mail (Perth, WA : 1885 - 1954) Sat 17 Mar 1906, Page 42: https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/37389536
