Burial of Peter Dent at Romaldkirk on 29 January 1688/1689.^[1] "Buried in the Church in the North Porch at the wall side. 3s 4d". He left a nuncupative will dated 25 January 1688/1689.^[2] He mentions children John, James, George, and Margaret. His property was divided between James, George, and Margaret, who were executors. John, who is mentioned first, received only one pound two shillings. It is possible John was the eldest son and had already been provided for.

Research Notes

Dates - Peter's date of birth is likely to be before the 1650 estimated, as his children seem to be adults at the time of the will. Also the only baptism of a John son of Peter Dent so far discovered in the Romaldkirk register is 4 December 1654.^[3] Son John attached here is said to be born on 15 May 1676, but there is no baptism near that date. There is a baptism on 15 March 1676/1677, but the father is given as John. (This baptism may be Peter's grandson).

Peter's wife is probably the Elizabeth wife of Peter Dent who was buried at Romaldkirk on 1 January 1681/1682.^[4]
