Benjamin was born in Granville, North Carolina to parents Samuel Denton (1734-1811) and Margaret Margret (Moore) Denton (1736-1780). He married Priscilla Celia Rebecca Wiggins (1755-1808) in 1772 [1]. Benjamin and Celia had nine children [2]:
