Biography

Anna was born July 15, 1856 in Clarks Corer, New Brunswick. She was a daughter of Moses Denton and Catherine (Jordan) Denton.^[1]

Her father passed away when she was young. She and some siblings appear in 1871 living in the home of her sister Catherine McCarty in Sheffield.

She may have been married, as indicated by her death certificate which cites her as "Widowed."^[1]

She passed away on November 28, 1952 at Newcastle Bridge, New Brunswick at the age of 96 and was interred at Newcastle Bridge.

Research Notes

• There is conflicting information whether Annie ever married. Records attributed to her children indicate that their father was unknown. Annie's death certificate, however, lists her is "widowed." No marriage or census record has been found to corroborate any marriage.
• The maiden name of her mother was obtained from the death certificate of her brother. On her death certificate, only the first name is given.
• Birth date confusion : Death certificate says she was born July 15, 1856 however 1901 census says she was born June 1863. Confirmed records are for same person based on children and other vital info.
