Evelyn M. O’Neill Cox, 82, of Wichita Falls, passed away Friday, June 4, 2010.

The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Rev. Hoa Nguyen, celebrant. Rite of committal will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Evelyn was born on March 10, 1928 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Lester Edwin and Emma (Gouchie) Derby. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was employed with Gibson’s Discount Center for many years. Evelyn was a very loving and caring mother, and friend to all. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ned Cox; two brothers, and one sister.

She is survived by her three children, Guy Payne O’Neill, Jr. of San Antonio, Michael O’Neill, and Peggy Sturm both of Wichita Falls; a brother and sister, David Derby of San Antonio, and Diane Lewis of Rock Port; cousin, Dorcas Chasteen of Wichita Falls; thirteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and family.

The Christian Wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
