This profile is part of the Flobecq, Hainaut One Place Study.
Marie Josephine Derobert Masure was born on 28 April 1835 in Flobecq. Her parents were Emanuel Derobert Masure and Marie Josephine Dubois. She married Charles Louis Devos on 13 January 1859 in Flobecq. They had a daughter named Adolphine, who was born before their marriage on 27 December 1855 in Flobecq. Their son, named Louis Adolphe, was born in Flobecq in 1860.
Josephine moved to Presles, France to be with her son, Louis Adolphe, and her grandson of the same name, after her daughter-in-law, Léopoldine, died. She is listed as a resident there in the 1901, 1906, and 1911 censuses.
The circumstances of Josephine's death have yet to be confirmed. An online family tree states that she died in Flobecq on 31 December 1923. This would be consistent with her moving back to Flobecq in old age after her son's death at Presles in 1922. Unfortunately, town records are not available online beyond 1913.
