Isaac Derwin is a part of US Black heritage.

Research Notes

Derwin's burial location, or whether or not he was even buried, is uncertain. According to the "Final Statement", signed by his commanding officer, Captain Nolan, he was buried about 10 miles west of Double Lakes, but according to Nolan's official report of the scout, when they went back to find his body, they could not find it.
