Hélène (Devos) Cuvellier migrated from Belgium to United States.
Marie Hélène was born 10 p.m. on 11 January 1887 in Flobecq, Belgium to Louis Adolphe Devos and Léopoldine Frarain.
Hélène married Georges Cuvellier on 31 December 1907 in Saint-Denis, France. As part of the marriage, Georges legitimated Hélène's son, Gilbert, who had been born 14 September 1907. The timing of the marriage was influenced by George's military service, as he accepted leave from his post as part of France's 54th Infantry Regiment in order to marry Hélène. Georges and Hélène later had another son, named René, who was born in 1909 in Brussels, Belgium.
Hélène and her family left for Canada in the early 1910s. The family lived for a time at 313 Dalhousie Street in Ottawa, Ontario. After a stay in Canada, the Cuvellier family attempted to immigrate to the United States in 1915, but they were debarred at the border. They were able to successfully immigrate to the United States in January 1917, with the family settling in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Hélène died 10 August 1965 in Manchester, New Hampshire. Her cause of death was a pulmonary embolism. She was buried four days later at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Manchester, New Hampshire.
