He may have married first an Elizabeth Davis, with whom he had his son William.
He married, probably as his second wife, Betty Ann Lewis on or after 31 January 1766 (bond date) in Richmond County. The security was LeRoy Peachey.
Samuel died on 3 October 1810 in Monroe County, Virginia.
