Biography
Married John McGoldrick in 1912 [1] Which reads "Goldrick - Dew A very popular wedding was celebrted at St Matthew's Anglican Church, Hastings, yesterday, when Mr. John McGoldrick, well known in hockey ciricles, forth son of the late James McGoldrick of Hokitika, was united in the bonds of hold (sic) matrimony with Miss Ida Emily Dew, fifth daughter of Mr and Mrs Samuel Dew, of Hastings. The Rev J.B. Brocklehurst officiated. The bride was given away by her brother Mr Bernard Dew of Woodville. was handsomely attired in a tailor made navy blue costume with grey hat trimmed with feathers and carried a beautiful shower bouquet. She was attended by her sister, Miss Ethel Dew, as bridesmaid, who was robed in a pretty dress of pale heliotrope ninion trimmed with silk insertion and black picyure hat trimmed with cream feathers. She also wore a dapper brooch, a present from the groom. The duties of best man were discharged by Mr Stewart Baird. Mr and Mrs McGoldrick subsequently left by motor car for Wellington en route for the South Island where the honeymoon will be spent. The happy couple were the recipients of many presents in addition to those already published. "
She died in 1915 aged just 24. They had two girls, Molly Jean in 1913 and Ida May Taylor in 1915. Neither girl is recorded as having died under that name in NZ. John died in 1953.
