Biography
William was born in 1803. His parents were Nancy (Wallace) and Robert Dew. There is information on the Dew lineage in the Glattfelder/Clotfelter book cited in Sources.
He married Katarina (Katherine) Clotfelter prior to 1826 in Tennessee.
They had nine children between 1826 and 1844.
In 1850 they were living in Illinois with four of their children: Robert, Sarah, Jacob and Hester ann. [1]
He passed away in 1853.
